HHG Giving Back.

For life. For community.

The law can change lives when it is accessible to the people who need it most.

HHG Giving Back reflects our long-standing commitment to supporting individuals, families and organisations across Western Australia through meaningful legal assistance, community partnerships and the arts.

Since inception, HHG has contributed more than $750 million in pro bono legal assistance and direct financial support to community initiatives.

This work sits alongside our role as legal advisors. It is part of who we are.

Community Impact.

Through legal assistance, community partnerships and practical support, HHG Giving Back focuses on contributing where help can have lasting impact.

Supporting people beyond the law

Not every challenge can be solved in a courtroom.

Over many years, our team has worked alongside charities, not-for-profits, community organisations and individuals facing difficult circumstances. Sometimes that support comes through legal representation. Sometimes it is practical assistance, advocacy, financial contribution or simply making professional expertise available where it can have the greatest impact.

We have supported organisations and causes connected to:

  • family and domestic violence prevention
  • homelessness and housing support
  • mental health initiatives
  • youth development and education
  • regional community programs
  • arts and cultural initiatives
  • Aboriginal community organisations
  • medical and health research

Our approach is deliberate and long term. We focus on partnerships where we can contribute in a meaningful and sustained way.

Access to justice matters

Legal assistance can be out of reach for many people at the exact moment they need it most.

HHG continues to provide pro bono legal support and community legal assistance across a range of areas, including through selected clinics, referrals and community partnerships.

Our lawyers work with individuals and organisations experiencing genuine hardship, with a focus on matters where legal support can make a lasting difference.

Applications for pro bono assistance are assessed carefully having regard to:

  • financial circumstances
  • the nature and urgency of the matter
  • broader community impact
  • whether alternative assistance is available

Not every request can be accepted, however every application is considered thoughtfully and respectfully.

Built on relationships.

Community contribution is not a campaign or annual initiative at HHG.

It is part of the way the firm has operated for decades.

Many of the organisations and causes we support are connected to long-standing client relationships, personal involvement from our people and communities we have worked alongside for generations.

We believe professional success carries a responsibility to contribute beyond commercial outcomes alone.

Supporting creativity and culture.

The HHG Artist in Residence programme was established to support Western Australian artists and bring creative practice into the everyday life of the firm.

Each residency provides artists with space, visibility and connection while contributing to a workplace environment that values perspective, creativity and culture.

The programme reflects our belief that strong communities are built not only through professional services, but through support for the people and ideas that shape cultural life.
