Richard Dewar is a Senior Associate in HHG Legal Group’s commercial litigation and dispute resolution team, advising businesses, property owners, farming enterprises, and individuals across a broad range of commercial and property-related disputes.
Richard assists clients with contractual disputes, debt recovery matters, property and leasing disputes, building and construction matters, and broader commercial litigation issues. He regularly works with clients through negotiations, mediations, and court proceedings, providing practical advice focused on resolving disputes efficiently and effectively.
Having grown up on a farming property, Richard has a strong connection to regional Western Australia and a genuine understanding of the challenges faced by farming families, agribusinesses, and regional communities. He has a particular interest in agribusiness and regional matters and regularly works with clients involved in farming and regional business operations.
Richard also leads HHG Legal Group’s Remote Towns Regional Services programme, travelling throughout Wheatbelt communities every two months to provide regional clients with greater access to legal support and advice. Through this programme, he works closely with businesses, farming enterprises, and individuals across regional Western Australia, building strong relationships within the communities HHG supports.
With experience across a range of contentious matters, Richard understands the commercial and operational pressures disputes can place on businesses and individuals. He focuses on helping clients understand their position clearly, manage risk, and work toward practical outcomes aligned with their broader objectives.
