A wealthy 24 year old Japanese man has been granted parental rights over 13 surrogate children due to his financial capability to support their needs and his desire to have a “big family”. Granted in a Thai Court, the court outcome now allows for the man to export the children to Japan. This raises some important legal issues, including questions surrounding the welfare of the children involved and whether a price should be put on a human life.
