Richard Dewar | Commercial Litigation and Property | Associate

Richard is an Associate in the Commercial Litigation team.

Richard graduated from Murdoch University before being admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of WA in 2019 and the High Court of Australia shortly after. Richard has spent much of his career at a boutique firm specialising in commercial disputes, with a particular focus in agriculture and construction, before moving to HHG Legal Group in January 2024.

He has extensive experience in litigation, including advising on matters and appearing in the Magistrates Court, District Court and Supreme Court and has experience involving several disputes in the State Administrative Tribunal.

Richard predominately practices in the areas of agribusiness/rural law, general commercial law, and construction. His focus is on providing clients with efficient and practical solutions to their legal problems and is eager to assist clients through every stage of the litigation process.

Richard advises and represents clients in a broad range of matters of commercial litigation, including:

• Agribusiness and other farm rural related disputes
• Wills and estate issues
• Building and construction litigation
• General commercial disputes

Richard grew up in the country on a farm between Northam and York and is passionate and dedicated to people in rural Western Australia accessing quality legal services. Richard shares his working time out and about in the regions throughout WA and the head office in Perth.
