Former Gold Coast Suns player, Joel Wilkinson, is preparing to sue the AFL over alleged racial vilification and sexual harassment. He claims the footy club failed in its duty of care as an employer — a complaint which will soon be heard by the Human Rights Commission. As an uncharted legal area, this case has potential to be a ‘test run’ not only for sports, but for other non-traditional workplaces as well.
