WA’S FAMILY COURT SAYS THE STATES PLUMMETING FINANCIAL FORTUNES HAVE LED TO ANOTHER INCREASE IN CASE, LEAVING STAFF WITH AN INTOLERABLE BURDEN OF WORK

Reported in The West Australian (11/07/2017) The chief judge of WA’s Family Court says the States plummeting financial fortunes have led to another increase in case, leaving staff with an intolerable burden of work. Justice Stephen Thackray, who has presided over the court for 10 years, said there had been a particular increase in parents asking the court to make decisions about children.
Simon Creek spoke to Oliver Peterson on 6PR Perth Live about the crisis that this extra burden is putting on families.
