HHG LEGAL GROUP POISED FOR ANOTHER CENTURY OF SUCCESS WITH THEIR CONTINUED COMMITMENT TO REGIONAL WA AND NEW FY APPOINTMENTS AND PROMOTIONS

HHG Legal Group is excited to announce our latest appointments and promotions across Commercial Litigation, Criminal Law and Employment Law with more lawyers to serve the Great Southern & Perth metropolitan communities.

Since the firm’s humble beginnings in 1919 as a one-man office in Albany, then known as Hudson, Henning and Goodman, HHG Legal Group has continued to expand, with over 50 staff and dedicated offices in the Perth CBD (HHG-HQ), Mandurah and most recently, Joondalup in 2020. The addition of Linlee McCormack (Senior Lawyer) to our Albany team, Kimberly Jones (Lawyer) to our Perth lawyer team and promotion of Gemma Wheeler-Carver (Associate) ensures they will be able to continue providing WA families, individuals, businesses, and governments access to the best legal expertise, in a location that is geographically convenient for them.

About Linlee McCormack:

Linlee is a highly respected and reputable commercial litigation and criminal lawyer and brings over 15 years of experience to the Albany team. With legal careers in both the public and private sectors, she is well equipped to provide the Great Southern region with complex legal advice, criminal law defence and commercial litigation services. Linlee has also worked as a legal officer for the Department of Communities as well as a Prosecutor for the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions, giving her insight beyond that of most criminal lawyers.

She is highly regarded within her field and has provided expert advice, reports and recommendations for proposed legislation and regulations. This extensive and diverse range of experience will be a great asset to our Albany team and will strengthen HHG Legal Group’s standing as the leading law firm in the Great Southern region.

About Gemma Wheeler-Carver:

We are very pleased to announce the recent promotion of Gemma Wheeler-Carver to Associate. Over the last 20 months, Gemma cemented herself as an integral member of the Dispute Resolution and Employment Law team, working tirelessly on delivering exceptional client service across our Perth, Albany, Joondalup and Mandurah offices. Her efforts keeping Western Australian businesses and individuals updated on the ever-changing employment law landscape during the pandemic has also been commendable.

Gemma is a committed team player who has been pivotal in developing and executing our fantastic annual CPD program as well as being a great mentor to our junior lawyers and graduates.

About Kimberly Jones

Kimberly is the newest addition to the HHG team and will be working as a lawyer in our Employment and Commercial law teams. She brings over 5 years’ experience to HHG Legal Group, working within litigation, commercial law, employment, tourism and rural law. She hails from Scotland and relocated to Perth in 2010.

Kimberly is committed to delivering great client service by working closely with her clients, guiding them through the legal process and finding tailored solutions to meet their individual needs.

HHG’s Executive Chairman, Simon Creek said, “the recent Great Southern appointment of LInlee, (and with plans for more), represents a big investment by HHG in our historical home city. It also reflects a strength HHG Legal Group has, which other law firms our size do not: our ability to provide clients with direct access to a full-service team delivering quality legal advice and representation across multiple geographical locations. Albany has so much potential – we all know it, as that is where it all kicked off for Mr Hudson over 100 years ago.”

“When Gemma commenced at HHG Legal Group, she brought a wealth of knowledge from her prior legal roles and her time in the commercial sector. I’m so proud of the way she has delivered amazing client service, helped me develop the team and connect clients to services across the firm. This has been acknowledged in her being the first promotion for the new financial year” said Murray Thornhill, HHG Legal Group Director and Head of the Dispute Resolution team.

He continued by saying, “the addition of Kimberly to our Employment Law team will help us meet the current market demand for this area of law and her highly regarded Employment Law experience will solidify the strength of an already high performing team, extending our capacity to assist more clients.”
