Gilbert Hewett

Gilbert is a lawyer in HHG Legal Group’s Commercial Litigation team, assisting clients with a wide range of disputes and providing clear, commercially focused advice. He holds a Juris Doctor from The University of Western Australia and a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice from the College of Law.

Gilbert’s practice includes commercial litigation, debt recovery, boundary disputes, wills and estate litigation in the Supreme Court and State Administrative Tribunal, as well as disputes regarding administrative decisions. He assists individuals, businesses, and strata bodies with disputes involving contracts, property boundaries, estate administration, guardianship and administration issues, and decisions made by government and administrative bodies.

His experience includes:

  • Negotiating practical and commercially sensible outcomes in debt recovery matters.
  • Representing clients in boundary disputes, including court appearances.
  • Acting in guardianship, administration, and contested estate matters.
  • Preparing clear, structured advice across a range of commercial and civil disputes.
  • Managing maters efficiently and maintaining strong communication with clients, counsel, and other stakeholders.

Before joining HHG Legal Group, Gilbert served as an Associate to Deputy President Judge Vernon at the State Administrative Tribunal. This role provided valuable experience working with government and administrative bodies, including exposure to merits review, procedural management, and complex decision‑making frameworks.

Gilbert brings a steady, practical, and client‑focused approach to his matters. His diverse background in education, audio production, and the manufacturing and production industry contributes to his adaptability, attention to detail, and ability to communicate complex issues clearly.
