We are delighted to share the news that Maria Zappala has been admitted as a Lawyer to the Supreme Court of Western Australia. Her day was made even more special as her mentor, Janene Bon, Special Counsel, moved her admission. To get to know her a little better, we asked her a series of questions.

Why did you decide to study law?
I chose to study law because I wanted an interesting and challenging career in which I could assist people.
Do you have any advice for law graduates?
Network! Take advantage of the opportunities that you have.
Why did you decide to train at HHG Legal Group?
I began working at HHG in my second year of law school. I found that I really fit in with the culture, had great mentors and access to a vast variety of complex and interesting matters.
What will you be practicing and why did you choose that area of law?
I will be practicing in wills, estates, and succession planning. This area of law appealed to me as it is client-facing and provides me with exposure to a myriad of different assets.
If you could instantly master a new skill what would it be?
I would love to be fluent in Italian.
Do you have a favourite quote?
Treat others as you want to be treated.
Congratulations once again from everyone at HHG Legal Group.
